Here we are again! & Crispy Chicken Fingers Recipe

Hi and good morning from me
Its cold here this morning 25 degreese

Now their tired and they got me up.

I hope all is going well on your side of the box. Its just becoming daylight here Iam so lucky my Dog wanted to go out so we had to wake our other dog Princess #2 up because our Princess #1 dog will not go out with out her. So now they are happy they can go back to sleep but not me I am doing my usual creating on my computer one of the greatest things I ever could have done was get involved with the computer it has brought so much happiness and crazyness into my life since I retired 6 years ago.
Bill had his surgery yesterday he had to spend the night at the hospital I talked to him this morning and he says he is feeling good he was eating french toast he likes being surved breakfast in bed LOL.. I told him dont get used to that!!! we  dont know when he will be released today or tomorrow providing all goes well. I know last week they released him and he was sick due to bad reaction to medication. and they had to pospone the surgery so now its over crossing fingers and toes. Sometimes I think meds can make you sicker than you are . He was shocked that they let him go but he did fine and actually recovered in a day or two once he was home. All the Christmas decorations are in. Steve came over and took down the last string of lights and big wreath so its official its OVER on the outside and who cares what the weather does now. I know its almost New Years and here is a recipe I thought sounded good to share at your festivities if their is one. Its not mine so I dont know what it taste like but thought it sounded good.

Crispy Chicken Fingers

1/2 cup plain yogurt. Low fat is fine.
1/2 tsp tarragon. Skip it if you like.
a dash of salt
a dash of pepper

1 1/2 cups finely crushed Corn Flakes. Put them in a ziplock bag and let your kid pound them to atom-sized molecules.
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1 1/2 pounds boneless chicken breasts
Preheat the oven to 400. Grease a cookie sheet OR cover it with Parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix together yogurt, tarragon, salt and pepper and mix. In another bowl, mix together the cornflakes and Parmesan.
Cut the chicken breasts into fingers or nuggets. Dip each piece into the yogurt mixture and then roll it around in the cornflake mixture. Once coated, lay each piece on the cookie sheet.
Bake for ten minutes and then turn the cookie sheet around and bake for another 10 minutes.

Ice and Snow

What's New With Me!

I have been busy just cleaning up washing floors vacuuming all that fun stuff putting away the Christmas dishes back in to the hutch until next year. They are so cute we always get them out for Thanksgiving and Christmas thanks to my two sisters Dorothy and Aletha who bought them for us when we moved here as a house warming gift. I have also been working on the computer cant forget that. I make up the little booklet of  events and schedule of  groups for our church for the year and I wanted to get that done befor the first of the year so we can have the pages printed and put together now that I have all the information up to date.  Now that Christmas is over I asked Steve to bring in the tree that was out on the back deck the day after Christmas we were expecting bad weather and I didnt want it to be frozen to the deck, because it was screw in so it wouldent blow away. We get some really crazy winds out here during the winter. and yesterday I brought in our snowman that was out their and we have them in the garage drying out befor they are packed away for another year. Bill has been feeling a little better although we didnt go to any party's during the holiday he just isnt up to it. Hopefully after his surgery tuesday he will be on the mend I sure hope so he was always running here and their and helping around here he was told to not over due it so I wont let him but yesterday he did a little by putting away the dishes from the dishwasher and clearing up the dinner dishes after we ate. I want him to do a little because its not good to not do anything you can get blood clots just sitting around and he sure dosent need that. We got our snow all day yester day one day late for Christmas thats ok we didnt mind I cleared off the deck in the back three times yesterday and made a path to the arbor where the bird feeders hang. I seen Mr and Mrs Cardinal yesterday eating from the feeders I was so happy they came back they havent been around for a few months, I love them they are so cute. Our guy who clears our snow from the driveway and sidewalk came last night and cleared our snow. Bill and I always did it but in our old age we just cant do all that any more OH we could but dont want to anymore. were OLD LOL  this year we hired the fellow who  cuts our grass to do it and its really nice to be spoiled of course we pay him he dosent do it for free. We didnt even know he was out their until we looked out and it was done the dogs didnt even get a chance to bark like crazy I kept them away from the front of the house because I knew he was coming.
Time for me to close I have to get ready for Church.

Hi From Me

Hi from Me
Yesterday we brought Bill to the hospital for his lazar surgery and we had a great suprise his atrial fibrillation was acting up OH My God what a mess, poor Bill he just wanted to have it over with and me too, but things arent always working out as we plan. They admitted him in to the hospital to monitor him and do test so that is where we stand at the moment not knowing a thing!! I will go up today sort of early as we are expecting some icy bad weather to come in and I cant leave the dogs for to many hours alone they cant open the door and let them selves out... And their isnt any one around to do it.  I dont want to bother the neighbors or the kids they have plans for the day. And with bad weather expected I dont want to be out in it any way Bill dosent want me to be out in it also. So I will be making this short as Iam going to get ready to go up to see him its not far just about 15 minutes away I never really timed it about 4 miles I think. Out here 4 miles is nothing. Not like Chicago where 4 miles was a half hour ride. I'll post more later after I get back and hopefully have more information.
Ciao
 until next time

Whats Happening with me.

What happening with ME.
Thats my wreath on the back of our house.
It Snowed here in Illinois all day but we only had about an inch it was so wet and heavy.  I went out to clear up the driveway, how exciting thats how I know.  I didnt want Bill to do it not until after his surgery Tuesday and we know that all is well with him, then maby if we have snow again this winter he can and believe me we will get more. Its the Mid West.. Of course if its deep then we have a guy that will do it for us. No more cutting the grass and snow shoveling for us although I did enjoy it the exercise was good and I got to go out and talk to the neighbor who is out their doing something in her yard or  coming and going . The girls came over yesterday it was a nice visit as usual and our popcorn queen didnt finish her bowl of it this time she ate a bananna and an orange healthier food Oh and crackers and candy LOL she likes to come over and eat goodies we laugh. She always takes a piece for them all when they leave for the ride home. The night befor Steve and Liz came over for a visit we enjoyed that also we sure are lucky we have our family stopping by all the time. Were not to old people sitting here all by our selves. Bill made Hungarian goulosh I know that sounds yuck but it was delicious and I made beef stew another good one we will have that today in the winter we like that kind of food comfort food I call it. and their is always enough to make a dish to freeze for Steve and another meal for us. Today we are going to Megans Graduation she is graduating from Lewis U. Way to go Megan we are so proud of her she is amazing all that she does we wish her well and we are looking forward to be ing their. I will take pictures and post them.

This week was so busy we had a very sad death in our family.
Our great Nephew was killed by a drunk driver who blew a red light in the middle of the day he had his whole life ahead of him and gone in secounds by a drunk driver, can you emagine, I cant understand why this goofie who had many violations for years even had a car. he even escaped from the hospital but they found him. Thank God.
Julie was in a Christmas program this week where I was sitting I couldent see her but just happy to be their because she is our special girl and so adorable and fun to be around. The first thing after the program she walked over to me and wanted to know where Ba Pa was, he's her favorite. He couldent go because he was sick. But today he is feeling much better. He goes for lazer surgery Tuesday right befor Christmas hopefully their will be no complications and he can go home.
I met Aletha and some very old friends for lunch this week as well, that was nice. I think their was 15 or 16 of us I didnt count. I havent seen some of them for 5 years since I left they all look great. Next year I will bring a little gift that will be a nice   little gesture. We went to 94 west in Orland a very nice place and the food was good as well. Thanks for inviting me Aletha. Shes my sister and we are very close. I am lucky and so is she that we have each other she is my best friend. Even tho we get mad at each other not very often maby once or twice a year thats not to bad for sisters most of the time we talk 2 maby 3 times a day. LOL

Time for me to end this little message its getting dark and I want to go around and turn on the christmas lights I love christmas lights..

Until next time.

Standing On My Soap Box

OMG I was scrolling thru View Blogg how absolutely depressing,
Dosent any one out their have anything HAPPY to share besides all their sad sickness in their life. Their has to be someone that is happy or if your not PRETEND.
Who wants to read about  sick sick sickness . Or did I get hung on on a string of people that are un happy and want the Whole World to feel sorry for them because they or a family member is sick.. We all have our problems our ups and downs. You dont have to share the  sad things in life.
Its Christmas time lighten up. not only now but any time of the year.
 Lets spread a little Happiness.
Who wants the whole world to know we are at our lowest point. Come on Now!!!

Julie found the Pickle

Julie found the pickle!
The first time she came over after we put up our Christmas Trees. She found it..
Of course I had to give her one. We had two one for each tree. After she found it she came up to me saying, I love pickles they are my favorite. Everytime I look at the remaining pickle I think of her saying that. she is something else our Pop Corn Queen.
I bought the pickles at Chicago Ridge Mall many years ago as soon as I heard of their meaning I really had no Idea their was any such tradition but it sounded like a fun thing to have on the christmas tree everything else is so serious but the pickle is a fun ornament.

Legend says that the pickle, a symbol of good luck, was the last ornament to be placed on the tree. The first child to find the pickle on Christmas morning was rewarded with an extra gift left by St. Nicholas.

The tradition encourages children to appreciate all of the beautiful ornaments on the tree, rather than rushing first to the presents that Santa has left them.

Bill made his famous Chili last night and of course he thinks his is the best and to me it is. He walks around saying I think this is my best ever.

OK sure it is LOL thats his famous in the bowl and it was pretty tasty I must say.

Blue Bird survived this terrible week of bitter cold with down to 0 at night amazing isnt it. he is still hanging in their.
We waited for him all day and we were worried because it took him a long time to show up today. I think we thought about running out their and saying where were you!!! LOL

Until next time

What I did on a cold winter day

Kalachi

Sugarcookie peanutbutter chocolate drops
something I invented

See what my cookies look like, they are delicious YUMMM.
The one pan is Kalachi and OH so delicious one little problem is they are a bit crumbley and I think I should have made the dough a little thicker, next time! this was an experiment, I never made them in a sheet pan like that befor. So I guess I wont be taking them with me to the party.  I will have to eat them my self and I can do that no problem LOL
I also made  the sugar cookie pouch by Betty Crocker that I added creamy peanut butter and chocolate chips wonderful and put the glaze on them to make them look a little fancier and sprinkles for the holiday look. They turned out fantastic. Iam so creative I suprise my self.Tomorrow I will make a chocolate type.
Now for the weather report from me
Today is was blizerdy out here just so darn windy and cold a real winter day and of course all the snow blows right in that little area where we go out the door to let the dogs out and I have to push the snow away to open the door. So I gor the broom and swep the deck and by tomorrow morning it will look like I didnt do anything.
Thats all from me today I have been going all day long and its getting late time for me to relax.

WHEWWWWW Busy little Me

Abbie is exhausted just watching me work...

I cant believe where has the time gone:
I have 10 things going at once owning a women's Internet group has been keeping me so busy and of course the Christmas decorating, raking the leaves all over front sides and back GOSH and the normal laundry. I do laundry everyday of the week their is something wrong their is just the two of us where does all that laundry come from any way. LOL Oh and did I mention baking and dishes. Iam one busy lady...

Last night I went out with friends to a Christmas program at a church close to our area. My friend picked me up along with 2 other women from our church I never thought I would see the day when I did something like that. I remember my mother doing that for ever and would think Iam never going to do that although she had such a good time and always talked about what a fun thing belonging to a Ladies Church Group. who would have thought Me of all people the non church goer....

I had never been to that particular church and wanted to see what it looked like, it was very warm and cozy looking I liked the look. They had lots of ordure's and desserts their and If I would have know how many I wouldn't have eaten dinner be for going, they had so much you could have just chowed down on their goodies alone. Then after the eating was over we went into the church it self and listened to about 40 singer dressed in Christmas finery sing about 10 different Christmas Carole's. I looked around and thought this is what old retired people do and here I was old retired and having fun... After the entertainment we went back to their main dinning room and each picked a number and when our number was called we went up to the table and picked out a gift. fun fun Oh did I mention we all brought a grab bag gift. I also won the center piece and that was a plus it was a beautiful point setta so I went home loaded down.

We still have one Parakeet hanging around and hope fully nothing happened to our Blue because I havent seen him for a couple of days I did see a big red tail Hawk land on my deck so I know he's around looking to eat up our little feathered friends.

I made these fabulous cookies yesterday dont know why but dident take a picture what was I thinking LOL losing my touch.

I made a few changes to suit my taste and use up the reeses peanut butter cups I had from halloween. I chopped up the reeses about 6 and elimated half the chocolate chips.

Thats all from me CHOW for now.
