Memorial Day

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain;
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea.
O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!

America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.
O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control,
Thy liberty in law.

Be Safe Be Happy

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

Blogger wont let me up load any pictures, so I have to settle for a recipe I found on the Internet. FIXED!! Thanks to Aletha  she told me to clear my files even though it dose it automatically you still need to do that and that seemed to work. Thanks Aletha again!!!

We had fog this morning I took a couple of pictures to share.

A picture of a dove in our tree.

I plan on making this today on the grill hope we like it.

We are supposed to be in the high 80s to day so we are looking forward to the warmer weather. Hopefully that will help dry up our grass it is almost up to my knees. I will try to get the grass cutter started after church although I have never driven the  riding mower.
That should be interesting.. Wish me luck.. Sharing a couple more photos of my Irises the bottom one I just bought from my neighbors plant sale.

My Rhododendron looking pretty good, they dont last long so had to capture it now.

And my last photo for today!
One of my bird houses stuffed so much its coming out the bottom and sides.
Yes a bird does lives in there..

I plan on making this today on the grill hope we like it.

2 New York Strip Steaks
• 1 Tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning
• 1 Tablespoon Light Brown Sugar
• 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
• 1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
• Olive Oil
Items used to make this recipe
• 1 Mixing Bowl
• Serving Platter
• Plastic Wrap
• Spatula and Fork
Recipe
1. Get out your mixing bowl and combine the four spices Montreal Steak Seasoning, light brown sugar, onion powder, and oregano. Mix them together well with a fork or a whisk.
2. Now place your steak on a serving platter or baking dish. Rub in the spices into the steaks and then place some olive oil over the rubbed in spices. Then flip the steaks over and repeat.
3. Wrap the steaks up with some plastic wrap and place them into the fridge and to marinate for at least 30 minutes. You could begin cooking them right away but if you marinate them some the flavors will really begin to take in the steak.
4. After the steaks have marinated it is time to do some grilling. Preheat the grill on high for about 10 minutes. Now when I grill I like to spread some olive oil onto the cooking grates so what ever I am cooking will not stick to the grill.
5. Grill your steak for 4 to 5 minutes on each side turning only once.

Temperatures for steaks:
Rare - 120 - 125 degrees
Medium Rare - 125-140 degrees
Medium / Medium Well - 145 - 155 degrees
Well Done - 160 degrees

Like I always Say
Don't expect me to be perfect because that's just not me..

Finally things are getting settled down and I am getting used to doing every thing!
 Will almost everything.

I actually charcoal grilled the other day, Pork Chops and Pub Burgers four of each so we can enjoy them during the week and not have to go through all of the work again.
 "thinking ahead"
Of course we will have other things in between that's not all we will eat all week. that's me always looking for a short cut. Because I have so many project going in a single day..
I am quite proud of my self the part I wasn't to crazy about was getting everything ready after it was all covered up for the winter but now all the grills are ready for the season all four of them crazy isn't it who has that many.
Our gas grill is being repaired by our son in law and he is waiting for a part so I thought why not try so happy I did.
Thats rain on the deck
I bought the deck wash and preserver to work on that big project next.

We have been having our usual rain for May like for days and days, hopefully it will clear up for Memorial Day weekend. Irish fest is always held at Gaelic Park and its always a great event, so for there sake I hope its not rainy. I can remember some years it would be a rainy disaster.
I put down new carpet strips under the arbor the old one was there for three years and it needed to be replaced. I know that's weird but actually its not! I dont want all that bird seed growing in the rocks. why!! because Im a nut :) and dont want to be crawling around pulling out the growing bird seed..

Thats it! in the container waiting for the pick up.

Not bad for a Great Grand Mother..
I  trimmed back my burning bush thats it above my neighbor friend told me to try that because only about a fourth of it got leaves this spring.  Its worth a try we'll see what happens. another project I pulled out the Malabo's half didnt work or were broken due to the guy snow blowing our side walk during the winter.
I replaced them with solar ones something I hopefully will like better than going out there re setting the correct time due to what ever the reason was, and lately there were plenty over the years.

Muffins, Chocolate Candy, I ate half already.
Angel food cake with cool whip and crushed pineapple to put on top.
All no calorie.
 Just kidding..
Our darling sweet neighbor next door is still trying to fatten us up, not that I need it.
This week along this is what she brought us. Its nice to have some one give to you! it shows that they really care at least I hope they do..
I guess that's enough blogging the home care nurse is coming to pick up the monitor and I have some vacuuming to do befor she gets here plus go to Walgreen's and drop off  Bills prescriptions that need to be filled.

I sure wont miss all this
Half or maby more than half the stuff didnt take the correct readings.
We would always get a call or they would come over to check it out.
 good by monitors!!

Sharing a few Spring flowers in my yard.

I have a lot more flowers to share but thats another day, I have to get going lots to do..

Like I always say!
Im not perfect so dont expect to read this and expect it to be all perfect because thats just not me..

Im Back! After a glitch in Blogger.

Sorry Folks you GET to miss all my complaining about my crazy week which is almost over.
I typed it yesterday and low and behold Blogger didnt work do to problems and Im not about to go through all that again.
 Lucky you!!
I will share some of the beautiful photos I have taken this past week hope you like them.
Oh almost forgot  an up date on Bill since he come home.
He has been to two Doctors and  had home care here three times, they installed a monitor device to register his vitals to there main office, a really cool device, he's had a therapist her this week three times already. He's doing so much better he even walked into the Doctors today with just the aid of a walker. After only being home one week and hardly ever walking with a walker the four plus months befor that.. Quite an accomplishnment. He is  down to very few med's so all in all for now things are looking up.

I bought more flowers to plant today marigolds I just happen to like them.
We are now getting rain and so its by by to the 90s for a while.
I'll plant as soon as the weather will let me.

Thats our beautiful grand daughter she is graduating today from collage
and will be going on the the university in August.
Way to go Brittney!!
We are so lucky we have three very smart hard working grand children and we are very proud of them.

Here are some photos I snapped behind and in front of our house
( Spring Beauty)
