Bill Made Buttermilk Pie

Hi From Me!

Sunny beautiful afternoon today.
That's steam on the front storm door this morning.
Warm in the house and cold out side, it was down to the upper 30s this morning.
It was foggy again!!
I don't remember having as many mornings with fog as we had this year..

Isn't that great, I love it..
It kind of fits the fall season.
Of course it doesn't last long thank goodness for that..

Here's a cute one of all the birds taking turns taking a bath.

A couple of more little things I have made over the years.

Bill made a buttermilk pie this morning
something we never had before and I highly recommend it.
I made the pie crust because I absolutely love my pie crust recipe its from a Betty Crocker cook book from way back to 1960.
So you know its good  I don't make any other kind of pie crust and so easy.
We entertained my sister this morning she dropped by and got a really big laugh out of Bill and I getting ready to make the pie..

We couldn't hardly wait for it to cool off
Here is the recipe Bill used for the pie filling.

Buttermilk Pie
Recipe courtesy Emeril Lagasse

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
4 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 stick butter, melted

1 unbaked 10-inch basic pie crust shell

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and lemon zest. Whisk in the eggs, 1at a time. Stir in the buttermilk and melted butter. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the pie shell and bake until the top is lightly browned and the center sets, about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool to room temperature. Slice the pie into individual servings.

1 Pie Crust

1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup plus 2 Talb Crisco Solid
2 to 3 talb water
mix all ingredients together
I mix them in a food processor.
roll out to fit 1- 9 inch pie pan
pierce dough with fork so it wont shrink
 pour in filling bake
Enjoy!

Please do not take my art work
I work hard and long to make these pages.

Thank You
