Decided To Bake

I'm Back and its going to be another Hot Day 90 plus!
I decided to bake this morning, I'm turning into a Domestic Goddess :) for a day..
We went to the Farmers Market Saturday and went crazy buying.
I wanted to make something with the peaches and blueberries.  I just happen to come across this recipe from a Blog I love http://inthekitchenwithpolly.com/ a fantastic site.

Isn't it gorgeous! taste amazing even if I do say so.

The girls got their hair cuts yesterday and they needed them.
Especially Abbie she likes to sit out on the grass as much as possible
but not Sally she prefers to be in.

They were so tired all afternoon after the grooming.

That's Sally & Abbie with their every three month grooming.
The
Latest new look.

We just got back from taking them to a Natural Pet Dr.
 Whoo Hoo what next!!
It is closer to the house than their regular vet so now they have  there licence
 and physical for another  year.
I already had the heart worm meds and Flea and tick med so they are hopefully set for a while.
We are going to start them on their special dog food tomorrow 1/2 cup each in the morning and a recommended other meal  to eat besides the Special Food for morning is ground turkey and green beans steamed in the afternoon.
for both.
I cant believe I'm doing this.
This should be interesting Me the domestic goddess LOL

Here are a couple photos I took this morning
The Mums are starting to open I love this plant.

whimsical nostalgia

Today is going to be my whimsical nostalgia post something I just dreamt up.
I hope you enjoy it, a few pictures and what and who they are from.

Now to go around and take a few photos.

I'm back.
I even cleaned up this special tea pot.

The copper tea pot was given to us by Bills Grand Parents.
The first year after we got married we went to visit them.
I use it ALL the time!
When I make tea and Iced Tea
We drink Ice Tea all year round.
Its been Thur a lot and still hanging in their.
Of course I shined it up for the picture.

The grand plate in the middle was from my very favorite Aunt Rose.
She gave it to me with a few other treasures when she moved from Riverside to Pennsylvania.

These two little special trinkets are from my Mom.
Because I was her oldest child and she thought I should get them.
They were made by my Grand Father at a glass factory where he worked before he bought the Trucking Company.
Its the only thing we have from our Grand Parents and its very special.
You cant see it but on the one on the left engraved in gold are T B R R
meaning Tom, Bill, Reese Riley his three sons.
On the other to the right engraved in gold is Jenny 1903
Jenny was his wife and the year he made it..

This special plate it also has a brass holder!
Was a gift my Mother brought back to me.
when she visited her sister for the last time.
One of the relations in Pennsylvania was having a demonstration and they went.
Her younger sister was dying of cancer
The three sisters were together for the last time.

This pink champagne glass is from my Mom
 it was her mothers.
I have four of them and they are very special to me
It is the only thing I have that was my grand mothers.

This little trinket is so special to Bill
He and his only sister saved up their money when they were little kids
Its the first gift they bought their mother.
It looks a little foggy in the picture but its not.
Its like new ma by a few scratches its very old.

This special sugar dish is from my Mother in law
I always admired it and she gave it to me one day.
I treasure it always.

The last one for today

The white red trimmed doilies were made by my Mother
she had them on her tables in her living room.
They went with her red and black carpet they looked so amazing .
She loved her little apartment in our house and kept it spotless at all times.

Just hunted down another very special gift given to me.
By Bills Grand Mother Beulah a very special lady.
We loved her dearly one of the very sweetest of all.
This tapestry was given to her by her Son Bob
when he was in World War 2
A very special treasure.

That's all for today more trinkets another day.
Thanks for looking I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Of course corn on the cob this is corn country so their is plenty around here.
Its the best any where.
I bought pretzel bread a local favorite for me and a lot of people a round these parts.
We bought three jars of home made pickles sweet horseradish, dill horseradish, and habanero dill sounds good don't they.
We had samples and they are amazing.
We even bought tomatoes ours are just about finished and we couldn't pass them up. Fresh green beans and new potatoes, a dozen of farm fresh eggs, and last but not least Kettle corn a must buy every year.
After we got home and snacking all the time, the girls called to meet for lunch, so we did.
I watched what I  ate a small salad and a baked potato not to bad.

Good Morning

Full Moon last night.

I don't know why the double my hand must have moved.

Schools back in session around here after a long summer break.
I enjoy watching the buses come and go,
that's what retirees do after working for years.
We are lucky enough to have Schools near us to be able to see the buses come and go.
This year we have a bus barn right behind our Church.
I watch the buses come and go from their now.
Of course I dont sit or stand their and wait, jonly if I happen to be around and its happening.

I love it.
Heading to the school!

Back to the barn!
Of course this is  a picture of two of them.
Their are a lot more parked their.

We can actually open our windows today WHOOO HOOO  the  first time in a few months.
its actually cold air coming in 65 chilly early this morning.
We  had the hottest Summer on record for the Mid West broke a record for this year.
It felt good to have a  long summer, our summer last year was not great.
This is my neighbors grass they didnt water all summer.
They never do!! a lot of people around here are like that.

Not Me!!

The tree trimmers came back yesterday to clean up what they cut down the day before.
7:30 am again right on time.
I was out their trimming up the willow tree like I do all Summer.  I asked them if they could cut the ugly branch off that they left on the tree at the top. I cant imagine why they left it.
If you know anything about tree trimmers they love to hack up trees, they don't have to live with it so I think they pride their self in how ugly they can make them.

Yesterday morning I went to my Church to help with the quilting for Lutheran World Relief the quilts that some of our member put together they are absolutely so amazing. I want to buy every one I see. They wont let me LOL we have great time laughing and talking, the Ladies are so much fun to be around.

After we quilt for a couple of hours we have lunch together and chit chat its fun. Some times I drive  their, sometimes Bill drops me off when he drops me off I usually have him come and get me or I ask for a ride home  depending on the weather. The walk isn't far at all, about a city block maybe a little longer.
After eating I really need to do the walk. I enjoy it. Although their isn't a side walk I cut across the field then on to the drive way of the School and of course their is always some one standing out by the school. They probably wonder what the heck is that lady doing coming across the field, actually its a retention pond for rain but their wasn't any water in it or I definitely wouldn't be walking Thur it.
haven't seen any snakes not yet so far.LOL

That's what it looks like from my back deck.

I heard a dove and took a picture of him on our stack on our house.
Isn't he cute sitting up their watching the world go by.

Mr Dove!

That's all from me for this time
Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Forgiveness means letting go of the past.
Dont ask why I put that saying their.
I happen to run across it while surfing and thought it might mean some thing to some one.

The Tree trimmers from the Village were here  bright and early 7:30
to trim our two trees. They left at 10.
The branches weren't even close to the wires but I guess that's what is known as job security.

That's Bill Checking it out.

I went out to look just as I thought it looks stupid.
I will just have to live with it, at least its where we cant see it.
Just everyone else who goes by and looks.

Sorry Folks..

Here are a couple of more photos of whats happening out their.

This one was taken from in the house.
I didn't want them to get paranoid

This is what it looks like now from the back.

Their is someone in the cherry picker with all the branches.

I wonder how long it will lay their before they come and get it.
Probably a week like all the other years

Every year they say they wont be back for a few years.
every year they are back the very next year.
The cut branches are not laying
on our property
So
I dont care.
We really cant see them un less we go to the other side of the bushes.

Thats a little about whats happening in my day.
Of course except
Cindy and Julie stopping by for a visit today

Steve stopping by yesterday and us going out to lunch and dinner yesterday.
