Looking out the front. Peach Smoothie.

The sun is trying to come out but its pretty cloudy still this morning.

Looking out the front door, the mums are starting to bloom. I have them every where..
Most of the white ones I transplanted from one major plant that was here when we bought the house.
I never planted them before moving here, I had no Idea they were so hardy..
I love them! after the annuals start to fade from the heat the mums start.

Sharing my next door neighbors rose of Sharon, I thought it was so pretty.

This is the first year I planted alyssum's in front, they did really well. of course everything I plant in front does well. It gets a lot of sun. m
Next year I think I will plant the purple and pink ones just for a little more color.

Sharing a photo out side our fence standing in the neighbors yard.
The rose arbor is just doing OK not as well as I would like.
Feeding the birds there just about wipes it out.
Or I should say birds and squirrels he insist on eating the bird seed.

Believe me the birds are having a fit over him in there feeder.
I guess Ill have to go out there and scare him off.

Sharing my grasses, the lighter one I trans planted some from the front last year.
Its doing quite well this year back there.
I'm glad I did, because I dug up the one in the front and its really a pretty grass.

Sharing a recipe for Peach Smoothie we had a free one coming.
When we went to Panara for lunch the other day and we really loved the smoothie.

Coca Cola Cake (Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe)

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 ounce can cola
  • 1 cup unsalted butter cut into small cubes
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Frosting:

  • 12 ounce can cola
  • ½ cup salted butter cut into small cubes
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 cups powdered sugar sifted

Instructions

  • Make the Cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  • In a small saucepan, stir together the cola, butter and cocoa powder over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Pour into the flour mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until moistened.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk and vanilla until blended. Add to the batter, whisking constantly.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Make the Frosting: About 15 minutes before the cake is finished, begin the frosting. In a small saucepan, bring the cola to a boil over high heat and cook until the liquid is reduced to ½ cup, about 12 to 15 minutes. Stir in the butter and cocoa powder until the butter is melted, then remove from the heat. Add the powdered sugar about 1 cup at a time, whisking until smooth. Pour immediately over the hot cake in an even layer. Allow the cake to cool to room temperature before serving. Leftovers should be covered and stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
